The Best Drinks in Hawaii

Best Halloween Bars

The following are the best spots on Front Street to get a drink on Halloween.

First off, remember that this is a big party! With big parties come a lot of police. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!! Maui police will be out in full force with check points and random stops. If you're a minor, law enforcement has pledged to pay a particular amount of attention on underage drinking. In the past couple years, some minors have been taken to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. This has ruined it for all of you delinquents. Drinking on the street will be monitored heavily. Don't drink outside of a bar, or you may be spending your Halloween behind bars. They're cracking down this year in a big way. Have a DD or don't drive and stay in Lahaina.

The best Lahaina Bars for Halloween will be on the second story facing Front Street. Most have some kind of costume contest running. If you plan on spending time in the bars, make sure to get there early and stay at one, as opposed to bar hopping. The lines will get long when they hit capacity, and the cover charges will add up quickly. These are some of the best spots to get a drink, party, and view the excitement below:

Lahaina Oyster Bar

Finding the bars that have the best view on Front Street is easy. Look for the happy patrons leaning over the sides of the balconies throwing beads and spilling beer.

If you're looking for a different type of bar, one of the best spots in Maui is the new Oyster Bar just North of Dickenson and Front Street. It has an open air dining area on the roof, and a great bar and restaurant on the second level. This is one of the nicer bars to get a cocktail in Lahaina. Just below it is The Cellar. This is underground and a wonderrful place to see some live bands. Both of these hot spots are off of Front Street, but do not have views of the activities on the sidewalks. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the view for a good cocktail in a nice environment.

Watching the festivities from above is the only way to do Lahaina for Halloween. We threw beads to the best costumes and for people who wanted them the most. It was like Mardi Gras on acid!
